Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre Outdoor Pool Redevelopment

The pool tiling is now completed. Concourse pavement installation will commence in February.

The project includes a complete replacement of the current outdoor diving and eight-lane pools with one state-of-the-art L-shaped heated 50m pool. The new pool will be made up of two pool spaces incorporating an extended 10 lane 50m space and a 4 lane 25m pool space including associated plant room upgrades, all surrounded by a new concourse and landscaping and new LED lighting towers.

The current facility has coped with a 55 per cent increase in the population since being built in 1967, and a further 53.4 per cent increase in population is forecast for the catchment area by 2071.

Total outdoor aquatic space will increase by 25-30 per cent enabling the facility to provide recreational opportunities for this growing population.
