The City of Stirling is committed to providing a calendar of free and low-cost community events that offer entertainment and leisure opportunities for everyone to enjoy.

WAM Awards 2022 presented by City of Stirling 

City of Stirling was proud to partner with West Australian Music (WAM) to deliver the 2022 WAM Awards at the Astor Theatre Perth, on Tuesday 1 November. 

This event recognised the excellence and accomplishments of the WA Music Industry across 30+ genres and categories, including four new additional City of Stirling Awards.

Paw-some Day Out 2022

The City’s spring-themed Paw-some Day Out bloomed with excitement from 8.30am - 12.30pm on Sunday 30 October at Dianella Regional Open Space.

With over 3,000 people and their pets in attendance, Paw-some Day Out is the City’s largest dog-friendly event, hosting over 40 stallholders who showcased the latest pet products and services. The day also featuring RAC’s flower photobooth, best dressed costume parade, canine obstacle course, pup art activity, free show bags, eating challenge, prizes and more.

Enchanted Woodlands!

Enchanted Woodlands

Residents of Woodlands attended Enchanted Woodlands held at Jackadder Lake Reserve on Saturday 22 October 2022 from 1.00pm - 6.00pm.

This free event offered an array of kids activities, artists and community activations offering a magical afternoon of family fun. Residents followed the trail around the lake to discover unicorn rides, picnic areas, musical performances, fairy folk-tales, face painting, pop-up bar, sensory friendly zone, kids crafts, art and more!

With the intent to support local, the Woodlands Shopping Centre Cafés and Resturants prepared and supplied pre-made food and meal deals for attendees on the day.

Groundswell Festival

Groundswell Festival

The Drug Aware Groundswell Festival presented by the City of Stirling returned to Scarborough on Friday 30 September - Sunday 2 October. 

The festival was a free community event delivered by the Scarborough Beach Association, which celebrated positive youth culture and engagement, offer pathways to professional sporting competition and cement Scarborough as Perth’s home of surf, skate and beach culture.

This event attract around 15,000 visitors over the three days and is still the biggest multisport youth event in Western Australia. It offered local amateur surf, skate, basketball competitions, free workshops, street art, food, music, beach activities, health and wellness, and cultural activities.

Jazz By The Beach 2022

Following the roaring success of its debut in 2021, Jazz By The Beach returned on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August 2022 with an expanded line up of local world class musicians, featuring 17 acts across 10 Scarborough venues.

No More Blank Walls Street Art Festival

The ‘No More Blank Walls’ Street Art Festival took place in Mount Lawley from 8 - 16 April 2022, with an aim to beautify the city and bring people together in a celebration of street art culture. NMBW featured murals, live art, a gallery exhibition, community events & workshops, street art tours, artist talks and after parties. To view the photos head to the City's Facebook page.
