Perth against the world at International Ninja Grand Prix

Perth teenager Jai Whitby is preparing to defend his titles at the upcoming International Ninja Grand Prix after being named Solo and Skills champion in 2024.
The Ninja Warrior-style competition returns to Osborne Park’s Ninja Academy Perth for the second year, pitting Perth’s best ninja athletes against some of the best competitors from Australia and around the world.
Proudly supported by the City of Stirling, the International Ninja Grand Prix is taking place on Saturday 13 December and Sunday 14 December, featuring a solo, skills and team competition.
The solo event is the main attraction for individuals, with competitors taking on three unique obstacle courses testing speed, technique and endurance to be crowned champion.
The other individual competition is the skills event, which sees athletes test three specific skills outside of a traditional course structure, selected from amongst balance, agility, laches, speed and endurance.
At 15, Whitby is already one of Australia’s most accomplished ninjas, having travelled to the eastern states and internationally to compete – winning or placing on the podium in a range of competitions.
A blur on the course, Whitby’s speed and composure create a jaw-dropping visual spectacle when he takes to the course.
In his quest to secure another title on home turf, Whitby has been training under Scarborough ninja coach Aaron Pietzsch to ensure he is ready to perform well and put on a show.
Separate to the two individual contests, the team-based Clan Wars event will see four athletes work together to beat various stages and other teams to emerge victorious.
Spectator tickets cost $10 per person for people aged 14 years and older. Ninja fans aged under 14 years can watch for free.
To see Jai Whitby and other amazing ninja athletes put their skills to the test next weekend, purchase a spectator ticket and witness the International Ninja Grand Prix at Ninja Academy Perth, 7/443 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park.
