Your cosy guide to winter date nights in Stirling

A couple enjoying a date night
01 July 2025

Whether your idea of a good time is a perfectly brewed morning coffee, a cuddly windswept coastal walk, or enjoying the view in a sauna under the stars, we’ve got you covered.

Winter’s cooler temperatures are the perfect excuse to cosy up, slow down and explore the city with someone special - be it your partner, best mate, or even a well-deserved date with yourself.

Sunset spots
Nothing says old-school romance like Peters by the Sea fish and chips, best enjoyed perched on Scarborough’s Sunset Hill, or head Mettams way for Beachcombers to enjoy uninterrupted views of the golden Indian Ocean stretching out before you. If you’re leaning a little more luxe, take a seat at La Capannina in Scarborough, Island Market Trigg, or Tom’s Italian in North Beach, all serving up dreamy ocean views and even dreamier menus. For the craft beer crowd, grab a frothy at Froth and enjoy front-row seats to an iconic Western Australian sunset.

Cosy dining
As the sunshine dips and the chill sets in, head indoors for an intimate meal in a moody corner. St Brigid’s Bar and The Corner Dairy in Doubleview are both local gems that pair perfectly with a bottle of red and a hearty winter menu. In Scarborough, Little Wave brings big flavour with its rotating seasonal menu. Bar Vino in Mount Lawley oozes warmth and Italian charm. For something French and fabulous, Le Rebelle on Beaufort Street delivers all the Parisian vibes, while their punkier sister venue, Bar Rogue across the street strips things back to great music, excellent wine and incredible value-for-money pasta and steak night specials.

Relax and recharge
Fancy something a little more zen? Take a dip in the coast-hugging Scarborough Beach Pool before melting your muscles in Alchemy Sauna’s newly opened spot above The Sandbar. If relaxation is what you’re craving, Ambience Wellness Karrinyup, or Serene Day Spa will have you both floating home. Or check into Solace Day Spa’s new bathhouse at Rendezvous Hotel for the ultimate indulgence.

Hot drinks and sweet treats
Because no date is complete without something sweet, warm your hands (and your heart) with a hot choccy at Bennies or an indulgent mug of mulled wine at Scarborough Sunset Markets Winter Edition. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a pastry from Wild Bakery in Inglewood or a flaky croissant from Harvest Boulangerie Patisserie, or, combine the best of both worlds with Perth’s first hot chocolate croissant from Osborne Park’s micro patisserie Crumbs in the Wall.

Evening entertainment
Keep the fun going with a night of entertainment. Channel your inner pro at Hamersley Public Golf Course’s driving range, where you can swing clubs and enjoy Caddy’s pizza and drinks until 9.00pm. For a classic night out, catch the latest flick at HOYTS Karrinyup and follow it up with cocktails and delicious Thai inspired flavours at Spice Market. Into live performances? Head to the Astor Theatre for comedy, music, and everything in between. Or, for something to truly get your heart racing, try your hand at rock climbing at Portside Boulders in Osborne Park.

Get creative
Spark something new with a creative twist by joining a Coastal Canvas Collective paint and sip session at Rendezvous Scarborough, or get hands-on with a clay date at Perth Pottery Co in Inglewood. Mix things up with a cocktail-making class at Ciao Dandy’s Karrinyup Distillery, or explore art workshops with Collective Obsessions in Osborne Park.
