Lost and found pets

Appointments are required before attending the Animal Care Facility, please call (08) 9205 8555 to book.

The City of Stirling’s Animal Care Facility (ACF) provides a temporary home for lost and stray animals, as well as an adoption service for unclaimed dogs.

If your dog is found within the City of Stirling wearing a registration tag and has a microchip, our rangers will bring the dog to the ACF and we will attempt to contact you as soon as possible. Dogs that are unclaimed for a period longer than 7 days may be put up for adoption. Any dog that is available for adoption will be listed in the adopt a dog section below.

Please be aware that the City’s Animal Care Facility is a cashless environment. If you are making arrangements to collect or adopt an animal, only debit card and credit card facilities are available. If you wish to pay cash you will need to do so by visiting Administration or Operations Centre before collecting your pet. If you are collecting your pet on the weekend and can only pay cash, you will need to find an alternate payment arrangement.

Stray and roaming dogs have the potential to cause a nuisance or attack members of the community, wildlife and other pets.

If you find a stray or roaming dog, if possible and safe please confine it to your backyard or garage, and phone our Contact Centre with a description of the dog.
