Strategic Community Plan
The Strategic Community Plan sets out an ambitious and achievable vision for the development of the City over the next 10 years and beyond.
It is an important document that informs the work the City undertakes by guiding Council decisions on matters such as projects, services and operational expenditure.
The City's first Plan was adopted by Council in 2013 and reviewed in 2016. A major review of the Plan commenced in August 2017 to ensure it still remains relevant and reflective of the community's needs. It was informed by a study of the demographic, social, environmental and economic trends and developed through an extensive community consultation exercise.
The Strategic Community Plan 2018 - 2028 has five key result areas:
- Social - Thriving local communities
- Economic - Prosperous and vibrant City
- Built Environment - Liveable and accessible City
- Natural Environment - Sustainable natural environment
- Governance - Making it happen

Corporate Business Plan
The Corporate Business Plan, together with the strategic community plan form the City's 'Plan for the Future'.
The Corporate Business Plan 2019 - 2023 was unanimously adopted by Council on 2 July 2019 and is a key council document setting out in detail how we plan to serve our diverse community through efficient, responsive and sustainable services and projects.
The plan is reviewed annually to reflect potential new opportunities and challenges that emerge, while delivering the City's long-term vision to be the place where people choose to live, work, visit and invest.
We are committed to delivering a sustainable and thriving city which engages the community and fosters prosperity. This plan sets out the services and projects we will implement over the next four years. Progress on the corporate business plan is monitored through a regular cycle of in-year reporting and in the City's annual report.
