Local Convos

Get involved
The City of Stirling Local Convos series is designed to support the community in getting together to chat about local needs, deepen connection and identify local priorities.

Get involved in shaping what it means to be 'a local'

The City has recently reviewed our community engagement to provide an increased focus on two-way conversations that listen and respond with a local focus.  The new Locally-led approach supports a greater understanding of what is important locally and tapping into local knowledge on matters of strategic importance.

Community engagement in this way helps drive deeper connection, participation, and engagement at a local level to shape service delivery and achieve our shared priorities.

Our new Local Convos sessions are designed to support the community in getting together to chat about local needs, deepen connection and identify local priorities.

To help us listen and respond with a local focus at the conversations, we invite the community to cast their vote on our  suburb profiles about what local issue they would like to talk about further.

So far, we have hosted 11 local convos in Balga, Carine, Doubleview, Inglewood, Innaloo, Scarborough, Mount Lawley, North Beach, Osborne Park, Trigg and Tuart Hill.

We would like to thank the 837 locals who attended a Local Convo so far to refine over 2,500 community ideas and suggestions about what it meant to be ‘a local’. Everyone has contributed to identifying 57 local focus priorities. The top local priorities for each suburb are posted to suburb profiles and later this year will be consolidated and presented to Council.

Walking Together Local Convos

To celebrate the 30 days of September the City is hosting a local walk in each of the City's 30 suburbs.  Get to know your local area, deepen connection and chat about local needs.  Our Local Convos are hosted by the City in partnership with teams of locals.  Everyone is welcome, please join us!
