Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

The City of Stirling sits on land known as Mooro Country, home to the Wadjak Nyoongar people for more than 40,000 years. The City respects and honours the Wadjak Nyoongar Elders past, present and emerging.

Did you know?

Songlines are the traditional Nyoongar walking paths that linked important sights, locations and traced the journeys of ancestral spirits as they created the land, animals and lore. They are passed down generation to generation by Elders sharing their knowledge.

Got a big idea?

If you have some ideas about activities you would like to see in your community to celebrate or and share Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture, we would love to hear from you!
