Main Street Carpark Upgrade Project

Following consultation with the local community, the City of Stirling has developed a plan for landscape improvements to the carpark at the corner of Main and Hutton Streets, Osborne Park. Closing date: 25 November 2022

Construction to the Main Street Carpark is due to commence in May and features landscape improvements that will create a local hub for the community to forge deeper relationships and help shape the local area.

Over a five-week consultation period, feedback was provided by locals which informed the final concept design. Once complete this new bump-in space will provide a space for community led events and improve pedestrian amenities.

Landscape upgrades

Improvements will include:

  • A 5.5x4m shelter, which will also result in the removal of an additional 2 parking spaces

  • The removal of 2 additional parking spaces associated with the shelter expansion above, will provide space for the inclusion of 2 bike racks near the shelter

  • An additional tree will be installed to the car park area

  • The drink fountain is relocated north adjacent to the palm tree

  • Planting of smooth barked apple trees in the car park, and alternating London plane trees and spotted gums on the verge.
