Pipes for Perth Beaufort Street Stage Two commencing

Stage Two of Water Corporation’s Pipes for Perth works on Beaufort Street in Mount Lawley between First Avenue and Central Avenue will commence early July and run until the end of August.

Water Corporation is replacing 2.1km of ageing water pipe along Beaufort Street in a three-stage approach between April 2022 and November 2022, as part of their broader Perth-wide replacement of pipes in their network. These are essential works to replace pipes that, in some cases, are nearly 100 years old.

While the City of Stirling has no role in the works, the City encourages the community to continue supporting local businesses, who are operating as normal, and plan their journey around the disruptions.

The Pipes for Perth works are scheduled as follows:

• Stage One – Beaufort Street between Walcott Street and First Avenue, Mount Lawley (May – June 2022 – nearly complete)
• Stage Two – Beaufort Street between First Avenue and Central Avenue, Mount Lawley (July – end of August 2022*)
• Stage Three – Beaufort Street between Central Avenue and Dundas Road, Inglewood (September – October 2022*).

During construction, both lanes of Beaufort Street northbound will be closed within the stage area and detours will be in place.  Beaufort Street southbound will remain unchanged. Maps of the road detours are available on Water Corporation’s project page.

Access to side streets and carparks will be available during the works from the southbound lanes. All construction work will be undertaken within the road, so footpath access to businesses will remain open throughout the period. The City encourages the community to continue visiting local businesses who may be impacted by the construction.

Most works will be carried out on weekdays between 7.00am and 5.00pm, and between 7.00am and 3.00pm on Saturdays via open trench excavation within the road reserve behind construction fencing.
