Redeployed staff roll up their sleeves
Redeployed staff from City facilities such as leisure centres recently rolled up their sleeves to help plant dozens of new trees in Balcatta Reserve.
The industrious staff planted a total of 33 trees to the parkland area just off Balcatta Road.
Mayor Mark Irwin checked in with the staff members to say hi and find out how the project was shaping up.
City staff members whose roles were affected by facility and service closures have since been redeployed into alternate roles to meet the growing needs of our community.
Whether it’s a swimming instructor helping deliver Meals on Wheels or a youth development officer distributing boxes of food for people experiencing hardship, the City is continuing to make the most of our resources to support the community during COVID-19.
