Tourism and destination marketing
To help local businesses benefit from tourism, the City delivers destination marketing - a coordinated approach to attract visitors and increase local spending. We do this through marketing campaigns, curated itineraries, major event sponsorships and digital storytelling.
Register your interest to feature in our campaigns
Let us know if you’d like to be considered for inclusion in our destination marketing campaigns. These campaigns promote local businesses through videos, photography, social media, and digital advertising.
Share your photos and videos
If you have high-quality images or videos that showcase your business, we’d love to feature them in our marketing (with credit). This helps us tell authentic stories and gives your business extra exposure.
Be part of curated itineraries
We create themed itineraries (e.g. “Family Day Out”, “Coastal Weekend”, “Foodie Trail”) to help visitors plan their time in the City of Stirling. Let us know what you offer, and we’ll consider including your business in relevant itineraries.
Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is a national platform that feeds your listing to major tourism websites like westernaustralia.com. It’s free, easy to set up and ensures your business is visible to a wide audience planning their trip.
Consider paid placements in publications like the Hello Perth Visitor Guide or the Destination Perth Holiday Planner. These are distributed in hotels, visitor centres and online, helping you reach tourists at key decision-making moments.
Becoming a member of tourism bodies gives you access to training, networking and promotional opportunities.
These include:
- Destination Perth – the regional tourism organisation for Perth
- Tourism Council WA – offers workshops, accreditation, and advocacy
- Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) – supports businesses looking to become “trade-ready” and work with international markets.
Do More You 2025 campaign
The City of Stirling launched Do More You, a bold tourism campaign that invited visitors to explore Perth’s northern coastal corridor on their own terms. Running from Monday 4 August 2025 for three months, the campaign encouraged travellers to engage with personalised experiences, including coastal escapes, cultural attractions, foodie hotspots and nature trails.
Rather than promoting a fixed checklist of attractions, Do More You focused on the freedom for visitors to create meaningful, self-directed experiences. The campaign positioned the City of Stirling as a flexible base for adventure, relaxation, connection and discovery, resonating with travellers seeking tailored, authentic journeys.
Strategically timed to drive visitation during Perth’s off-peak winter period, the campaign targeted intrastate, interstate and international audiences. It contributed to increased engagement with local tourism operators and supported year-round economic activity for local businesses.
List your business event
Boost your visibility and reach new audiences by listing your event or business through trusted tourism platforms and local channels. From Perth is OK to the City’s events calendar, it’s easy to showcase what you offer to visitors and residents actively looking for experiences within the City.
Hosting a live music night, art exhibition, food event, or community activity? You can list it for free on the City’s events calendar, which is promoted to residents and visitors alike.
The events calendar is regularly updated with key comunity and business-focused events.
