Future Trigg

Trigg is shaping a balanced future – a suburb known for its relaxed lifestyle, scenic charm, and strong family presence.
By 2035, Trigg’s population is forecast to reach 3,246, reflecting a 5% increase that signals steady growth and enduring appeal. With an average age of 43, above the City average of 38, Trigg is home to a well-established community where 91% of households are couple families, and 53% have children. Just 11% of homes are privately rented, suggesting long-term stability and a strong sense of ownership. It holds the second highest median weekly household income in the area at $2,779, reinforcing its reputation as a prosperous and desirable suburb.
Moving forward, preparation of a new Local Planning Strategy will set out the intent and objectives for land use planning in response to changes in population, housing, businesses, employment, transport, community facilities and infrastructure.
Liveability in Trigg is rated highly, with 86% of residents satisfied with life in the area and the amount of public space emerging as a top-performing attribute.
“Trigg’s natural beauty and strong community spirit make it a truly special place,” Councillor Tony Krsticevic said.
“We’re focused on planning for thoughtful growth, listening to all groups, and creating programs that allow more community members to engage with each other.”
A strong 68% of residents report a sense of belonging, and sensible development has been identified as the top local priority for the future.
“Residents want development that respects the character of Trigg,” Councillor Rob Paparde said.
“We’re working closely with the community to ensure growth enhances the lifestyle people love here.”
