Future Menora

23 July 2025

Menora is a suburb known for its mature, friendly community – a place where long-standing values shape a shared vision for the future.

With a projected population of 3,052 by 2035 – an 8% increase – Menora is growing gradually and thoughtfully. The suburb’s average age of 57 reflects its settled character, well above the City average of 38. It’s home to a stable population: 92% of households are couple families, 47% have children, and just 17% privately rent. While Menora has one of the City’s lowest median weekly household incomes at $1,311, this reflects a community of retirees and long-term residents who value connection, comfort, and quality of life.

Liveability in Menora is strong, with 81% of residents satisfied with life in the area. A top-performing attribute is connectivity, with locals enjoying easy access to services and amenities.

“Menora’s future is about preserving its charm while preparing for tomorrow,” Deputy Mayor Suzanne Migdale said.

“We’re investing in the things that matter most to residents and that enhance the sense of place.”

Moving forward, preparation of a new Local Planning Strategy will set out the intent and objectives for land use planning in response to changes in population, housing, businesses, employment, transport, community facilities and infrastructure.

With 57% of residents already feeling a sense of belonging, Menora has a solid foundation to build on. Locals have identified a clear focus: trees and greening.

“Menora may be quiet, but its future is full of potential,” Councillor Joe Ferrante said.

“We’re listening to the community and making sure every step forward reflects their values and aspirations.”
