Future Innaloo

23 July 2025

Innaloo is more than a central location – it’s a welcoming, diverse neighbourhood where residents come together to shape a shared future.

With a projected 32% population increase by 2035 – reaching 13,563 residents – and leading the City’s growth by 2046, Innaloo is preparing for exciting change. This growth reflects the suburb’s energy and strong community foundations. The average age is 36, with 80% of households being couple families, 34% with children, and 40% privately renting.

To cater for this growth, urban transformation in Innaloo presents an opportunity to create a more connected, sustainable, and liveable suburb. Encouraging more people to live closer to jobs and transport delivers better amenities, more diverse housing options, and safer, greener streets.

Moving forward, preparation of a new Local Planning Strategy will set out the intent and objectives for land use planning in response to changes in population, housing, businesses, employment, transport, community facilities and infrastructure.

“We’re seeing a community eager to be engaged in this journey,” Councillor Elizabeth Re said.

“There’s a real push for developments to be integrated into the existing community on a sensible platform.”

With 70% of residents feeling a sense of belonging and 87% satisfied with liveability, the community has also identified enhancing safety as a top focus for the future.

“Delivering on these priorities is ongoing,” Councillor Stephanie Proud said.

“Our job is to ensure growth reflects the values of the community.”
