Future Doubleview

Doubleview is embracing the future with heart – a suburb known for its caring nature and strong sense of community.
By 2035, Doubleview’s population is forecast to reach 10,982 – a 7% increase that reflects its steady growth and enduring appeal. With an average age of 37, the suburb is home to a mix of young and established families: 84% of households are couple families, and 48% have children. While 32% of homes are privately rented, the suburb maintains a healthy balance of stability and accessibility. Notably, 7 out of 10 homes are stand-alone dwellings, and residents enjoy access to eight local and community open spaces – reinforcing Doubleview’s reputation as a suburb with room to grow and connect.
“Doubleview is a suburb where people genuinely care – about their neighbours, their environment, and their future,” Councillor Elizabeth Re said.
“It’s a place where diversity is celebrated and community spirit runs deep.”
To cater for this growth, urban transformation in Doubleview presents an opportunity to create a more connected, sustainable, and liveable suburb. Encouraging more people to live closer to jobs and transport delivers better amenities, more diverse housing options, and safer, greener streets.
Moving forward, preparation of a new Local Planning Strategy will set out the intent and objectives for land use planning in response to changes in population, housing, businesses, employment, transport, community facilities and infrastructure.
“We’re focused on keeping Doubleview green, welcoming and well-connected,” Councillor Stephanie Proud said.
“We’re listening to the community and planning with care.”
