Future Coolbinia

Coolbinia is quietly preparing for the future – a suburb known for its calm streets, strong community spirit, and timeless charm.
By 2035, Coolbinia’s population is forecast to reach 1,746 – a modest 3% increase that reflects its established nature. With an average age of 40, the suburb is home to many settled families. A remarkable 92% of households are couple families, and 60% have children. Just 15% of homes are privately rented, contributing to a sense of long-term stability. As it grows, Coolbinia is also set to maintain its financial prosperity, with the highest median weekly household income in the City at $3,229.
Moving forward, preparation of a new Local Planning Strategy will set out the intent and objectives for land use planning in response to changes in population, housing, businesses, employment, transport, community facilities and infrastructure.
“Coolbinia is a suburb that values tradition while embracing thoughtful progress,” Deputy Mayor Suzanne Migdale said.
“It’s a place where people take pride in their homes, their streets, and their shared future.”
Liveability in Coolbinia is strong, with 81% of residents satisfied with life in the area and connectivity is a top-performing attribute. While 57% of residents report a sense of belonging, there’s room to deepen community ties through a shared local focus, which includes enhancing waste options.
“We’re always listening to the community and looking ahead,” Councillor Joe Ferrante said.
“Coolbinia’s future will be shaped by the people who live here – and we’re committed to supporting their vision every step of the way.”
