Welcome to Stirling Senior Services

Welcome to Stirling Senior Services

The City of Stirling, with support from the State and Commonwealth Governments, has been providing aged care services for more than 35 years. Our services include transport, home delivered meals, day clubs, social activities and carer respite.

The Stirling Seniors program is designed to assist in supporting older residents in their day to day lives. Whether it’s assistance with shopping, transport to and from social or medical appointments or a cup of coffee with a fellow senior, we’re here to help.

Customers who are eligible for the Commonwealth Government Home Support Program (CHSP) can access these services at subsidised cost. For more information on different government funding, you can contact our office or My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit www.myagedcare.gov.au

Please note, the City of Stirling does not deliver services through Home Care Packages (HCP) or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The below services are provided by trained staff and volunteers and are aimed to support independent living in local community.

If you need a little help in the kitchen, our food services team can provide delicious, nutritious meals delivered straight to your door.

Through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), the government subsidises the cost of meals, leaving only a small fee for you to pay. You can also purchase meals privately at the standard price.

Additionally, you are welcome to visit Food Services at 97 Delawney Street, Balcatta, to buy some frozen meals directly.

Our goal is to make healthy eating convenient and accessible for everyone.

If you require help with transport to get you to and from appointments, you may be eligible for our transport services. We offer individualised transport to and from your home to your local City of Stirling community centres, medical appointments, shopping centres, and more. The service is delivered primarily by volunteers, who make it their priority to get you to your appointment in comfort and on time.

Our shopping bus service operates as a shared transport service to and from local shopping centres. The service includes pick and drop off and provides customers with an opportunity to enjoy two hours of leisure time to browse the shopping centre, enjoy a coffee, or complete your weekly errands.

If you would like some company or social chat or require assistance with shopping or attending community programs or events, our experienced support workers or volunteers are happy to join and offer the support you may need. Social Support service is to assist customers to participate in community life and feel socially included.

Our Day Clubs are designed to encourage and support community connections and friendships for seniors. Tailored to a diverse group of seniors our clubs provide a warm, welcoming space to relax, spend time with old and new friends, or join in a range of activities. Day Club programs include community outings and social activities.

Flexible Respite Care gives family carer a break to pursue other things and allows for the time and space to do things independently. Respite care can provide one -on-one activities to give customer a social experience to develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction and offer respite to their carer. If you're wanting assistance to go for an outing, our supports workers are also able to accompany you out into the community.
City of Stirling Age-Friendly Plan 2023 - 2027

City of Stirling Age-Friendly Plan 2023 - 2027

Our City is now home to more than 50,000 people over the age of 60 who are a highly valued part of our great Stirling Community. The City’s new Age-friendly Plan 2023-2027 will directly guide our services, partnership and advocacy to ensure older Australians are celebrated, respected and actively supported to participate in community life.

We have identified four key focus areas for an Age-friendly Stirling - inclusive, accessible, connected, and active and healthy. These focus areas align with the World Health Organisation Age-friendly Cities Framework and key result areas within the City’s strategic community plan, Sustainable Stirling 2022-2032. Maintaining an age friendly community involves a whole of community response in ensuring that Stirling is an inclusive place where older people are not only welcomed and supported, but valued and celebrated.
