The Aussies

The Aussies is a national sporting event involving up to 5,000 members from 314 Australia wide Surf Clubs coming together to compete in more than 480 beach and ocean events across nine days. There are three major categories – Youth, Masters and Opens, as well as an Ocean Swim event, which is open to the public to enter and compete.

Training for these events hones the skills and abilities of our surf lifesavers to protect the community, perform rescues and save lives, and the City is proud to once again be hosting this important event, delivered by Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) with the support of the Scarboro and Trigg Surf Life Saving Clubs, the City of Stirling and the Western Australian Government via Tourism WA. We encourage our local neighbourhoods to get involved, come for the surf and stay for the fun – with opportunities to eat, play and relax.

With the same competitor magnitude as the Commonwealth Games, The Aussies are expected to attract total visitation of up to 50,000, creating a vibrant atmosphere and boosting the local economy. From exhilarating competitions to a Scarborough festival zone with markets, live music and alfresco dining, there is plenty for participants, visitors and locals to enjoy. Be sure to catch all the action right on your doorstep!

For more information on the Aussies, visit the website here.
