Local heroes and family-friendly fun at Stirling’s Community Safety Expo

The City of Stirling’s annual Community Safety Expo returns this Sunday with free safety checks, live demonstrations, interactive experiences and plenty of fun for the little ones.
The expo aims to raise awareness about safety services available to the community while celebrating the great work of the organisations that keep us safe.
Running from 12 noon to 3.00pm at Stirling Leisure – Mirrabooka, the program is packed full of free entertainment and education for the whole family.
For the kids, there will be arts and crafts, face painting, Constable Care puppet shows, Perth Glory player appearances and a display of emergency services vehicles.
One of the main attractions for all ages will be the iNSTRUCKTA! VR Truck, a 19m truck set up to provide an immersive virtual reality road safety experience.
Attendees can take advantage of bike safety checks, child car seat installations, anti-theft screw installations and a variety of prizes and giveaways.
The City of Stirling will be showcasing the wide range of safety services and expertise it provides to the community, from rangers and lifeguards to the fantastic team at the Stirling Women’s Centre.
There will also be an assortment of other organisations represented, including WA Police, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, State Emergency Service, Road Safety Commission, Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation, Consumer Protection and many more.
“The Community Safety Expo will give residents the opportunity to connect with and learn from the local heroes who keep them safe,” Mayor Mark Irwin said.
“It’s a chance for people to come together, get access to some great resources, pick up some practical tips and help build a safer, more resilient community.”
