Free workshops to support Plastic Free July

Take the next step on your sustainability journey at the City’s waste-reduction workshops this July – covering low-waste beauty, nude food and more.
Held in support of Plastic Free July, the City has partnered with expert facilitators to deliver practical, hands-on lessons on waste reduction for free.

Low-waste bathroom and beauty DIY workshop
Saturday 4 July | 10.00am – 12.00 noon | Stirling Leisure – Inglewood (activity room)
Join sustainable lifestyle educator, Laura Monisse for an engaging and practical workshop exploring how to create a low-waste bathroom and beauty routine, without sacrificing self-care, style or convenience.
Learn about the hidden waste created by everyday products, then roll up your sleeves to create a low-waste foaming cleanser, coffee scrub and essential oil roller to take home.
Nude food and beeswax wraps DIY workshop
Thursday 9 July | 1.30pm – 2.30pm | Stirling Libraries – Osborne
Join Lessen with Peg to learn how to nude your food and DIY beeswax wraps in a fun, hands-on workshop designed to inspire kids to learn about waste reduction and sustainability.
Suitable for children aged four years and older (parental supervision required), participants take home their own handmade beeswax wrap.
Create a bug from junk workshop
Monday 13 July | 1.30pm – 2.30pm | Stirling Libraries – Inglewood
Join Lessen with Peg and make a junk bug from recycled materials in this fun, hands-on workshop for kids of all ages (parental supervision required).
This interactive session invites children to design and build their very own ‘junk bug’ using a range of interesting materials sourced from local creative reuse business ReMida.
Reusable gift wrapping workshop
Thursday 16 July | 5.00pm – 6.30pm | Stirling Libraries – Dianella
Join Casper, the head wrapper at Happy Wrap Co, to learn about creative alternatives to single-use wrapping, including the art of furoshiki and other stylish, modern fabric-wrapping techniques.
