Free workshop to help parents protect children

The City of Stirling is partnering with Parenting Connection WA to help equip parents and caregivers with knowledge and skills to decrease the risk of child abuse at a free workshop on Thursday 18 June.
Teaching children water safety, road safety and sun safety often comes naturally, but personal safety and body safety can feel harder to navigate.
This free Protective Behaviours workshop supports parents and carers of children aged 0-18 years to better understand the prevalence, nature and impact of child abuse.
Importantly, the workshop focuses on practical skills and strategies to teach children that reduce the opportunity for harm to occur, decreasing risk factors and increasing protective behaviours to keep children safe.
Facilitated by eSafeKids, the workshop complements Protective Behaviours education taught at WA schools.
Date: Thursday 18 June
Time: 6.00pm – 8.00pm (light supper provided from 5:30pm onwards)
Venue: Billabong Room, Stirling Leisure – Mirrabooka, 38 Ashbury Crescent, Mirrabooka.
