The City operates three year-round aquatic facilities, offering a variety of swimming and recreation options for people of all ages and abilities. From lap swimming and aquatic fitness programs to leisure swimming, learn-to-swim classes, and family-friendly water play areas, the pools provide welcoming spaces for health, fitness, recreation, and community connection throughout the year.
Pool facilities
Stirling Leisure – Scarborough Beach is an iconic landmark situated in the heart of Scarborough.
Facilities include
- The main lap pool is heated year round to 27°C
- It consists of eight 50m lanes and four 25m lanes
- Multiple configuration options are available to cater for a wide variety of pool-goers, with depths ranging from 1.2m to 2.2.m
- The facility also has a separate leisure pool, for more leisurely swims and swimming lessons
- With a 200 seat grandstand and spacious open air seating areas, the pool is without a doubt the place to be
- On hot summer days you can relax on the sun lounges (with optional shaded areas) and cool winter days you can still enjoy a dip thanks to the year-round geothermal heating.

Swimming facilities for the whole family are located in a beautiful parkland setting.
Facilities include:
- A new 14-lane pool, now the largest outdoor public lap pool in the Southern Hemisphere, which can accommodate up to approximately 250 swimmers
- A new Learners pool with shade sails
- Indoor 25-metre, eight-lane lap pool heated to 29°C
- Indoor leisure pool heated to 32°C
- Indoor spa heated to 37°C

Video monitoring for your safety in the water
This facility uses the Lynxight System, which employs CCTV cameras and AI to detect and alert lifeguards to potential drowning or other safety incidents.
The System monitors these areas for swimmer safety, incident reviews and further improvement of the Lynxight System. The venue has suitable facilities for all patrons with three swimming pools and an interactive water playground.

- Indoor leisure pool, beach entry free-form pool with lazy river heated to 31°C
- Indoor program pool with ramp entry, designed for rehabilitation, hydrotherapy and beginners swimming lessons heated to 33°C

Watch Around Water
At Stirling Leisure, we support the Watch Around Water program and follow their guidelines.
Children Under 5 years
- Must be accompanied by a supervising adult (16 years or older) in the water within arm's length, at all times
- Must wear a ‘Watch Around Water’ wristband at all times to help staff identify their age while swimming
Children under 13 years
- Must be actively supervised by a responsible person aged 16 years or older at all times.
