Through Landgate, the Valuer General assesses the Gross Rental Value (GRV) of each individual property every three years. For the 2023/24 financial year, GRV valuations have been updated by Landgate and this has resulted in a general increase in GRV's. The City applies a rate in the dollar to the GRV to calculate the rates amount. The City has reduced the rate in the dollar for 2023/24 to offset the increase in GRV’s.
The average residential standard rate will increase by 3.24% in 2023/24 and the minimum rate will increase by 3.14%. The impact for individuals will depend on the GRV valuation of their property but most owners will pay less than the average 3.24% increase.
Electors and ratepayers are invited to make submissions in respect of the proposed rates, minimum payments, or any other related matters.
