Did you know the City of Stirling has 502 parks and 276 playgrounds? They might seem like just battery-drainers for energetic kids, but their true value extends far beyond that.

Did you know the City of Stirling has 502 parks and 276 playgrounds? They might seem like just battery-drainers for energetic kids, but their true value extends far beyond that.

A Parks and Leisure Australia study reveals that park users experience a range of physical, mental and social health benefits. 62% of respondents visit parks for physical activity, 98% value parks for mood improvement, and 33% experience social benefits.

These health and well-being benefits highlight the crucial role local governments play in not only providing and maintaining parks but also overseeing a range of services including building footpaths, waste collection and water and food inspection.

The City is currently inviting input to the Everyone Belongs community engagement initiative which will inform the Public Health Plan.
