Stirling's new Waste and Recycling Guide goes digital

The City of Stirling has officially released its Waste and Recycling Guide for 2025/26, with a new digital-first format.
The City of Stirling has officially released its Waste and Recycling Guide for 2025/26, providing residents with the latest information on how to manage their household waste more effectively and sustainably.
This year’s guide introduces a new digital-first format, designed to make waste and recycling information more accessible while supporting the City’s environmental goals. By reducing the need for printed materials, the City is cutting down on paper waste and ensuring that residents can access the most current information anytime, anywhere.
The 2025/26 guide covers everything residents need to know about their local waste services. It outlines what can and cannot go into each of the three kerbside bins and provides clear instructions on collection schedules. It also includes detailed information on how to safely dispose of household hazardous waste through the Recycling Centre Balcatta.
Residents will also find guidance on bulk green waste verge collections, including area-specific dates and preparation requirements. The guide explains how to access on-demand services like free skip bin hire, white goods and mattress collections, and e-waste disposal. Additionally, it offers practical recycling tips to help reduce contamination and improve recovery rates.
The digital version of the guide is interactive and user-friendly. It features a searchable address tool that allows residents to quickly find their next bin collection day. It also includes direct links to book waste services, report bin issues, and access educational resources such as virtual tours of recycling facilities and waste avoidance workshops.
Residents can also use the digital guide to view tip pass information, locate drop-off points for items that can’t go in kerbside bins, and learn more about the journey of their waste once it leaves the verge.
For those who prefer a printed version, hard copies of the guide are still available to collect from Stirling Libraries, City of Stirling Administration Centre and Operations Centre receptions. Residents with disability or mobility issues who would like hard copy but are unable to collect it are encouraged to contact the City’s Customer Contact Centre on (08) 9205 8555.
