Scarborough Beach precinct maintenance

03 February 2026

A scheduled power outage will take place from 9.00pm Tuesday 10 February until the morning of Wednesday 11 February for essential maintenance.

This will affect lighting in carparks and along pedestrian walkways and could see some City facilities closed earlier in the day.

Traffic management and additional security will be in place to ensure vehicles and foot traffic can be redirected safely.

Main Roads WA has completed major asphalt works and line markings at the intersection on Scarborough Beach Roach and West Coast Highway to accommodate the Public Transport Authority’s new Surf CAT bus service.

Electrical works for this upgrade are now underway, with some night works planned to minimise traffic impacts.

When construction is complete, passenger vehicles travelling eastbound on Scarborough Beach Road will no longer be able to turn onto West Coast Highway; improving safety by eliminating conflict between motorists and buses.

Motorists wishing to head north or south on West Coast Highway will need to use Reserve Street, Manning Street or Brighton Road to exit the Scarborough Beach precinct.

Pedestrian signals are also being upgraded to reduce delays and improve safety and accessibility.
