A confirmed case of Canine Parvovirus (Parvo) was identified in a dog found in the suburb of Balga last weekend.

Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially fatal viral disease affecting dogs, particularly puppies and unvaccinated animals.

Symptoms may include lethargy, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration.

Dog owners are encouraged to ensure their pets' vaccinations are current and to seek veterinary advice promptly if their dog becomes unwell.

The best protection against Parvovirus is vaccination.

If you have concerns about your dog's health, please contact your veterinarian.
