Stepping up active transport on Mirrabooka Avenue

Construction is underway on a major upgrade of the Mirrabooka Avenue shared path which will transform a 1.75km section of the City of Stirling’s long-term cycle network
The $1.8 million project will replace the existing concrete path from Beach Road to Reid Highway with high-quality red asphalt with a consistent width of 3m, creating a safer, wider and more accessible path for all users.
The upgraded path will help encourage residents and visitors to choose active transport such as cycling, walking or using a wheelchair to reach important local destinations, including two schools, a North Metropolitan TAFE campus, the Mirrabooka Community Hub and Stirling Leisure – Mirrabooka.
The project is jointly funded through the City of Stirling and the Australian Government’s Active Transport Fund Program.
