Osborne Ward Councillors Lisa Thornton and Teresa Olow have welcomed progress on the construction of much-desired new public toilet facilities as part of the Joondanna Reserve Upgrade Project, which has been supported by a $500,000 Federal Government grant.

Construction of the toilet block is complete, with next steps to connect the facilities to the main system to bring them to a working condition in the coming weeks, as well as the completion of a mural on the facility's exterior by Perth-based artist Tessa Dorotich.

The mural design will feature children at play amongst giant fantastical native flora, inspired by the artist's youth spent in suburban parks.

Once operational, the new toilet facilities will support longer stay and play opportunities alongside the new playground, picnic facilities, park network and garden beds completed as part of the project.
