New motoring festival drives into the City of Stirling this March

11 March 2026

Perth’s motoring community will come together for the inaugural Stirling Festival of Motoring at Robinson Reserve, Tuart Hill, on 28–29 March 2026.

For the first time, two major automotive events — MTAWA Cars and Culture and the Shannons Perth Classic Car Show — will unite under one banner for a weekend celebrating Western Australia’s motoring culture.

Proudly supported by the City of Stirling, the festival is expected to attract thousands of enthusiasts and families.

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said the event highlights Western Australians’ passion for cars while showcasing the City as a hub for major community events.

“We’re excited to welcome more than 100 motoring clubs and 1,000 vehicles to the City of Stirling for what’s set to be one of the biggest and best events of the year for WA motoring enthusiasts,” Mayor Mark Irwin said.

“Like so many communities in WA, we have a strong connection to car culture in Stirling, from our working vehicles to generations of classic cars that have been driven along our coast.

“The Stirling Festival of Motoring will showcase our local car culture and have something for everyone across the weekend.”

Saturday 28 March will feature MTAWA Cars and Culture – an Automotive Journey, a free pop-up display bringing the City of Stirling’s history to life through vehicles from different eras.

Three themed display hubs will showcase the area’s heritage.

  • Classic Surf celebrates Scarborough’s beach culture with panel vans, vintage FJs and beach buggies.
  • Market Grounds reflects the region’s agricultural and European influences with classic utes, trucks and Italian motoring icons.
  • Old School Car Yard pays tribute to the legendary Scarborough Beach Road dealership strip with favourites such as Valiants, Monaros and Minis.

On Sunday 29 March, the Shannons Perth Classic Car Show returns for its 55th year, featuring more than 1,000 vehicles including vintage and classic cars, modern collectables, rare sports cars, hot rods, motorcycles, trucks and buses.

More than 100 motoring clubs from the Council of Motoring Clubs are expected to participate.

The show runs 10am–3pm, with entry $15 adults, $12 concession and free for children under 16.

Across the weekend, visitors can enjoy live music, food vendors, licensed bars and family entertainment.

Non-car club enthusiasts from across Perth are encouraged to register their vehicles for display at the Sunday event’s Octaine & Caffeine section for just $15.
