Growing a biodiversity corridor in Balga

The City is continuing greening initiatives across the Balga Ward to better connect green spaces, support local wildlife and create cooler, more liveable neighbourhoods.
As part of the Balga Biodiversity Corridor, a new native waterwise verge garden has been installed near Camberwell Park, featuring 450 endemic plants suited to Perth’s conditions.
This complements the demonstration garden at nearby Barry Britton Reserve, which provides practical, labelled examples for residents interested in creating their own waterwise verge gardens.
Together, these gardens help wildlife move more easily between parks and bushland areas.
They also form part of a broader program of works, including street tree planting in Balga and Mirrabooka during this planting season.
