Gold standard: City wins 12th consecutive Gold Award for reporting

The City of Stirling has won its 12th consecutive Gold Award at the 2026 Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA).
Recognising excellence, transparency and accountability in reporting, the ARAs are now in their 76th year.
The awards program allows private, public and not-for-profit organisations to benchmark their annual reports against world best-practice criteria.
This year’s ceremony was held in Sydney on Thursday night, with winners flying in from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and across Australia.
The City was one of 68 organisations from the Asia-Pacific to receive a Gold Award for its Annual Report 2024/25.
To receive a Gold Award, a report must:
- Achieve overall excellence in annual reporting
- Provide high-quality coverage of all aspects of the ARA criteria
- Provide full disclosures of key aspects of the core business
- Address current legislative and regulatory requirements
- Be a model for other reports to follow.
Annual reports are a mandatory reporting mechanism for local governments, outlining their plans and sharing their operational and financial performance with stakeholders.
"This is something we take pride in because it’s about how we communicate with our residents and stakeholders about our performance," City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin AM said.
"We aim to go above and beyond statutory requirements to deliver annual reports that are comprehensive and engaging."
