Get ready to paw-ty at Paw-some Day Out’s 10th birthday celebration

25 October 2025

There’s only one more sleep until Paw-some Day Out turns 10 – and you’re invited to the paw-ty that will have hundreds of tails wagging.

Paw-some Day Out is the City’s homage to our four-legged friends, a free annual event that gives them all the attention and belly rubs they can handle.

Running from 8.00am to 12 noon this Sunday at Rickman Delawney Reserve in Balcatta, the 2025 edition will be the biggest and best yet.

Deputy Mayor Karlo Perkov will get the paw-ty started with a ceremonial birthday cake cutting, complete with a pet-friendly confetti cannon.

More than 700 paw-ty showbags will be given out on the day, packed with pet goodies courtesy of our event sponsors.

The best-dressed contest will return, with a red-carpet walk-off to decide which pups look the most fetching.

More prizes will be up for grabs in the Best Trick and Musical Sit competitions.

There will be a Paws and Relax Lounge for laid-back pooches and an obstacle course for those with energy to burn.

You can test your dog’s skills with a game of canine corn hole, lead them on a selfie trail, browse 60-plus market stalls or sniff out the food court.

Cat owners can also join the purr-ty with a visit to the Cat Haven stall and 30 claw-some showbags designed with felines in mind.

“Paw-some Day Out is already one of the most anticipated events on our calendar and it just keeps getting more popular,” City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said.

“It brings us all together over our love of pets and it also spreads an important message about responsible pet ownership.

“I’d encourage everyone to chat to our team if they have any questions about their pets and take advantage of the free vet checks on offer by Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital.”
