Fragrant Gardens Reserve will shine brighter than ever with the recent installation of four new poles with LED floodlighting.

Fragrant Gardens Reserve will shine brighter than ever with the recent installation of four new poles with LED floodlighting.

A first for the reserve, the 100 lux LED floodlights cover the soccer field to allow for night training and match play for all codes of community level football, as well as a lower-powered recreational floodlight to support community access while sport floodlighting is not in use.

The lighting upgrades support the relocation of Northern City Football Club from Mirrabooka Regional Open Space to Fragrant Gardens Reserve.

Northern City Football Club was founded to create change in the community by breaking down barriers to social inclusion, giving back their skills and knowledge to kids in the community and teaching them leadership and life lessons.

The City is proud to support Northern City Football Club with lighting for its new home ground as it continues to bring the Mirrabooka community together.

This recreational lighting will operate daily from sunset to 9.00pm, supporting greater use of the reserves, particularly in winter when daylight hours are reduced.

The 25m floodlight poles meet the relevant Australian standard, reducing light spill and glare, improving the experience for reserve users while minimising impact on adjacent residents.

The Fragrant Gardens Reserve infrastructure upgrades were funded by a $200,000 WA Government PlayOn WA contribution that was matched by the City of Stirling through its capital budget.
