Conservation call this nesting season

04 November 2025
Kambarang – the ‘Season of Birth’ – is a busy time for our conservation team, who are working hard to ensure the health and wellbeing of our wildlife and our community.
You can help by:
- Keeping nesting snake-necked turtles safe by driving and riding slowly around wetlands, keeping dogs on leash or under control and logging turtle sightings on the TurtleSAT app
- Avoiding nesting magpie swooping hotspots Clarko Reserve, Maurice Hamer, Breckler Park and Carine Regional Open Space
- Sticking to designated paths to reduce the likelihood of an encounter with reptiles and snakes coming out to bask in the sun
- Staying at least 10 metres away from rainbow bee-eater nesting sites at Lake Gwelup, Duart Arnott and Stirling Civic Gardens.
