Coastal Ward Focus

Coastal Ward Councillors Tony Krsticevic and Rob Paparde visited the recently completed Trigg landscape and surf lookout upgrades.
Visitors can enjoy a brand-new elevated platform, a shaded picnic area, informal lookout on the western edge of the dunes, an expanded grassed area for recreation and brand-new beach showers. In addition to adding to amenity, these improvements are designed to protect the dune system by discouraging walking in areas where restoration has been challenging.
The Coastal Ward Councillors also recently attended the recent Scarborough Safety Check, where they heard direct from local residents about any safety concerns they might have.
There’s always lots to do in the Coastal Ward and March is no exception. This month will also see the return of King of the Point presented by the City of Stirling, Perth’s premier surf tournament hosted at Trigg Point, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 March. The Scarborough Beach Amphitheatre will host the Scarborough Beach Weekender on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March, headlined by L.A.B and Xavier Rudd. Before and during this major event, there will be restricted access to the Amphitheatre, pedestrian diversions and increased foot and vehicle traffic in the area – plan ahead and consider swimming at other beaches.
Brighton Reserve will also host the grand final of Mens Talk’s 2026 WA Beach Dodgeball Cup at 8.00am on Sunday 29 March and the iconic Scarborough Sunset Markets will continue bringing epic eats, acoustic tunes and artisan stalls to The Esplanade at Scarborough Beach on Thursday evenings from 5.00pm.
