City invites community feedback on Meeting Procedures Local Law

As part of the Local Government Act Reforms being progressed by the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety standard meeting procedures are being developed for all local governments across Western Australia.

These standard meeting procedures reforms will replace the City’s Meeting Procedures Local Law and are expected to be implemented in 2027-28.

The City is still required to review its existing Meeting Procedures Local Law and is seeking community feedback on whether any changes are required. The Meeting Procedures Local Law details how meetings of Council, Committee and electors are conducted.

The City encourages the community to review the Meeting Procedures Local Law 2021 and share feedback before 4 September by visiting www.stirling.wa.gov.au/newlocallaws

Although the upcoming reforms by the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety will replace the City’s existing local law in the future, community feedback will help during this transition process and feedback can be considered in a submission to the Department.
