Contractor management

To manage external contractors safely and consistently, the City of Stirling is introducing a new contractor management process for engaging, onboarding and managing contractors.

Supporting safe work and meeting Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements is a key priority for the City. The new process will be implemented in three phases:

  • Phase one, November 2026: Contractor companies register in OnLocation, workers complete member onboarding, along with the City’s online WHS induction
  • Phase two, March 2027: Contractors sign in and out at City sites using QR codes and complete site-specific inductions
  • Phase three, May 2027: Contractors undertaking high-risk work apply for permits authorised by their City contractor manager before work commences.

Phase one

1. Company registration

Register your company here

2. Employee registrations and inductions

Once your company is registered and approved, you will receive a link to share with your employees and sub-contractors to register themselves. Once registration is complete, your employees will receive an automated email with a link to complete the City of Stirling Work Health and Safety online induction course.

Sole traders will also need to complete this step.

Phase two introduces a process for signing in and out of City sites when work is undertaken. The steps above need to be completed by this time to avoid delays to work commencing.
