NatureFest 2026 Get ready to celebrate nature, community and the great outdoors at NatureFest 2026, a free family-friendly festival taking place at the newly refreshed Henderson Environmental Centre, Groat Street, North Beach, on Saturday 24 October 2026.
Formerly known as Biodiversity Open Day, NatureFest is nature's big day out! Bringing together wildlife experiences, guided nature walks, hands-on activities, local environmental groups, art and community connection, it's a fantastic day of discovery for all ages.
Visitors will have the opportunity to be among the first to explore recent improvements to the Henderson Environmental Centre, including landscape enhancements, new educational signage, public artwork and building upgrades.
Festival highlights include:
• Guided walks through Star Swamp
• Interactive animal encounters
• Wetland science activities
• Children's bushcraft sessions
• Community environmental displays
• Face painting
• Garden art installations
• A Nature Passport adventure.
Ride, Walk, Win!
Leave the car at home and travel to NatureFest by bike, scooter or on foot for your chance to win a $100 voucher from 99 Bikes. With limited parking available, choosing active transport is the easiest way to get to the event while doing something good for yourself and the environment.

We're currently putting the finishing touches on the full festival program. A detailed event schedule, including walk times, activities and special presentations, will be released by the end of September. We encourage everyone interested in attending to register now.
