Groundswell 2026

Groundswell returns to Scarborough Beach this October with Back to Its Roots, a community action sports weekend celebrating the surf, skate, BMX and basketball culture that has made the festival a local favourite for more than a decade.

Presented by the City of Stirling, the event brings together four iconic competitions across 10 and 11 October, drawing competitors and spectators from across Western Australia and beyond. Watch riders and skaters take on the BMX Bowl Battle and The Grind Skateboard Competition at the Scarborough Beach Skatepark, while surfers hit the waves in the long-running Surf Boardroom Surf League and Groundswell Surf Competition, featuring men's, ladies' and junior divisions. Alongside the action, enjoy markets, food vendors, live entertainment and the vibrant coastal atmosphere that makes Groundswell one of Scarborough’s most anticipated weekends of the year.
