Microchipping and sterilisation

All dogs aged over three months must be microchipped. All cats aged over six months must be microchipped and sterilised.

Microchipping

City of Stirling residents are eligible for a microchipping discount through Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital.

Please phone (08) 9447 4644 for further information. Please note that you will need proof of residence in the City.

Changes to pet ownership

Please notify the City of any changes to your personal details or pet ownership, so that our records can be kept up-to-date. Please also make sure that you update your personal details with your microchip provider.

If you are unsure if your pet is microchipped, of your pet’s microchip number or microchip provider, please contact your local vet.

Sterilisation

Under the WA Cat Act 2011, all cats over six months must be sterilised. The City also recommends that you sterilise your dog. There are a number of benefits associated with sterilisation, which can be discussedwith your vet.

City of Stirling residents are eligible for discounted rates when they sterilise their pets at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital.
