About the Community Men’s Shed (The Shed)

Located at 8 Vasto Place in Balcatta, the City of Stirling’s Community Men’s Shed is a not-for-profit workshop facility for members of the community, and creates opportunities for social interaction among men, and the chance to meet other like-minded fellows in a friendly atmosphere.

Community Men’s Shed
The Shed is a newly-built facility funded by Lotterywest, Home and Community Care (HACC) and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).

There are several woodworking machines that can be used for individual projects (e.g. a rocking horse for a granddaughter), shed initiatives (e.g. chopping boards) or community projects (e.g. a park bench).

Even if you have no interest in woodworking, you are welcome to join us. Outside the shed is a small garden, barbeque and meeting area, and there is also a training room and a lunchroom. We have many plans to incorporate other areas of interest, limited only by members’ enthusiasm.

The Shed will also be a focal point for raising awareness of men’s health issues among members, which is high on the list of priorities for the Shed.

The Shed has been extremely popular and we have over 140 registered members. It has been decided to temporarily suspend membership for a few months as the workshop can only safely cater for a certain number of people. If you are interested in becoming a member, your details will be held on a waiting list and we will contact you when a space becomes available.
Please contact the Men's Shed Coordinator on (08) 9205 7625 for further information.

Items for sale

All products items produced by the Men’s Shed are made from recycled timber or timber donated by generous members of the public.

Each product is crafted by members of the Shed with skills transferred from member to member through friendship and collaboration.  The majority of products are unique, as no two pieces of timber are the same and the Men at the Shed like to produce a variety of products to test their skills.

Funds raised by the sale of these items are reinvested back into the Shed’s operation to ensure that the Shed remains a vibrant base for friendship, goodwill and good health.

If you wish to purchase any of the items please contact the Stirling Community Men’s Shed on (08) 9205 7625 or call in Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm.
