Youth Week celebrations underway across WA

Youth Week WA is officially underway, with celebrations underway across the State to recognise and empower young people.
Youth Week WA is officially underway, with celebrations underway across the State to recognise and empower young people. Held annually in April, Youth Week WA is the largest celebration of young people, running this year from Thursday 10 April to Thursday 17 April.
The 2025 theme, ‘Our Threads, This Place, Your Moment’, celebrates connection, individuality and community. It represents the contributions made by young people and encourages them to take ownership of their moment and place in society.
In recognition of this, the City of Stirling is celebrating Youth Week with a number of local events, including the Young Changemaker Workshop on Wednesday 16 April. These events are designed to give young people a platform to express themselves, connect with others and develop leadership skills.
At the heart of the City’s youth engagement efforts is the Stirling L.E.A.D.S. program – a passionate group of eight young people aged 16 to 21 who live, work, study or volunteer in the City. The program is guided by the values of Leadership, Empowerment, Achievement, Development and Service.
Stirling L.E.A.D.S. plays an important role in shaping youth initiatives, providing guidance to the City, and representing the voices of local young people. Through training, events and advocacy, L.E.A.D.S. members are supported to grow their skills and contribute meaningfully to the community.
The City of Stirling recognises that young people are not just our future — they’re our present. Programs like Stirling L.E.A.D.S. ensure that youth voices are heard, valued, and empowered to lead.
