The City of Stirling is a paradise for dog-lovers, offering an abundance of canine-friendly options that will make your tail-wagging companion's day. From refreshing nature walks to enjoying a puppuccino at a beachfront café, there are plenty of spots where you and your furry friend can enjoy quality time together.
Nature reserves and trails
Embark on a leisurely 45-minute walk around Lake Gwelup Reserve, a family-friendly trail perfect for a relaxing outing. For a more extensive adventure, head to Herdsman Lake Regional Park and explore the full 7km loop or take a more leisurely stroll, soaking up the greenery and serene views along the short boardwalk. Nature enthusiasts will love Trigg Bushland Reserve, offering a beautiful escape along an easy 3.5km loop trail. Speaking of bushlands, the vast Star Swamp Bushland is a 96-hectare reserve featuring a popular 1.4-kilometre dog-friendly walking trail that winds throughout this picturesque wetland. Most of the City’s reserves are equipped with amenities like poo bag dispensers, bins, and water fountains, so you and your pup are covered on your adventures.
Pawsome markets
Every Sunday, discover fresh produce and local goodies at the Stirling Farmers Markets, a treasure trove of treats for you and your four-legged friend.,. For a weekday evening adventure, check out the dog-friendly Inglewood Night Markets, complete with food trucks, market stalls and even a Treat Truck for dogs!
Beach fun
Located just off West Coast Drive, North Beach Dog Beach offers a delightful spot for your dog to frolic in the shallow, calm waters. After enjoying a splash, make your way to one of the many dog-friendly spots like Bennies or the popular Yelo North Beach with its laid-back vibe, perfect for grabbing a bite with your pup. Other dog-friendly beaches include Peasholm Street dog beach in Scarborough and Trigg Beach (between Kathleen and Bennion Streets).
Dog-friendly cafes and venues
If you fancy a longer lunch with a local brew, check out Froth North Beach – complete with unreal views followed by Dumbo Gelato in Scarborough who even have a dog-friendly ice cream!
Dogs are permitted on-leash in most public places, unless otherwise sign posted. You can exercise your dog without a leash at most of the City’s parks and reserves, providing the dog is under effective control at all times. Read here to find more dog-friendly public spaces in the City.
So next time you’re planning a day out, remember you don’t need to leave your four-legged bestie at home!
