Set sail for upgraded Whale Playground

Scarborough’s iconic Whale Playground has levelled up just in time for the summer school holidays.

Brand-new shade sails have just been installed, offering families and visitors better protection from the sun while they explore and play.

Located just north of Sunset Hill, the playground is designed around a whale skeleton, interpreting Wadjak Nyoongar Dreaming stories of spirits returning to land through the whales.

Having resonated with the sound of children at play since it opened in 2018, the new shade sails support longer stays without compromising on sun safety.

Whether you’re a regular visitor or have never been, be sure to set sail for the new and improved Whale Playground at Scarborough this beach season.
