Scarborough’s top cop joins City of Stirling Community Safety team

Mr Farrow has spent the past 32 years as a police officer in the UK and Australia, including the past four as officer-in-charge at Scarborough Police Station.

Earlier this year, the then Senior Sergeant was one of three finalists for the Metropolitan Award at the 2026 WA Police Force Recognition of Excellence Awards.

A highly regarded leader with extensive local knowledge, Mr Farrow started with the City today in the role of Community Safety Operations Manager.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my 17 years with WA Police Force, but I felt it was time for a new challenge that I could really sink my teeth into,” Mr Farrow said.

“I already know the area very well through my police work, including as head of Scarborough Police Station and Acting Inspector at Mirrabooka Police District, so this opportunity seemed like a great fit.

"The City of Stirling is an organisation I’ve worked with closely over the years and I’m excited to help them drive community safety.”

Mr Farrow will lead the City’s Community Patrol Officers and Rangers, the frontline teams that aim to provide a highly visible safety presence across WA’s largest local government.

The City operates a 24/7 Community Patrol service and a range of other safety services and initiatives.

“I think I bring valuable experience to this role in terms of investigating and managing incidents, understanding local crime trends and leading frontline teams,” Mr Farrow said.

“First and foremost, I want to make sure our teams are visible in the community and in the right places at the right times.”

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin AM said Mr Farrow had proven to be a fantastic partner for the City as the head of Scarborough Police.

“Bringing on someone with Haydn’s level of experience and expertise is a significant win for our community,” Mayor Irwin said.

“We know that safety is what matters most to our residents, so I look forward to seeing the impact Haydn can make in this role.”
