Scarborough’s iconic pool to host 24-hour fundraising swim

Community members and City of Stirling officers are set to swim relay-style for 24 hours at Stirling Leisure – Scarborough Beach to help raise funds for Ocean Heroes Australia this month.
Ocean Heroes is a non-profit organisation that provides people on the autism spectrum with free, safe, fun, and inclusive opportunities to connect with the ocean through surfing.
Starting from 4.00pm on Friday 17 April until 4.00pm on Saturday 18 April, teams will have at least one swimmer in the pool for the entire duration of the event to raise funds.
The money raised at the 24-hour swimming event will enable Ocean Heroes to run their free events program, providing more than 2,500 neurodiverse individuals the opportunity to use the ocean for confidence, connection and joy.
Spectators are encouraged to cheer on the swimmers during pool opening hours and donate to their chosen team to help power them through the water. However, the 50m and 25m pools will be closed to members and public from 3.30pm on Friday 17 April until 4.30pm on Saturday 18 April.
The leisure pool will remain open for the entirety of the event.
The City of Stirling will be well-represented at the event, with 21 City employees participating.
