Osborne Park Hospital expansion – September construction update

The WA Government is delivering a major transformation at Osborne Park Hospital as part of the New Women and Babies Hospital Project, with the expansion of maternity, gynaecology and neonatology services, birthing suites and theatres.
Works update
Temporary carparks adjacent to Civic Place in Stirling have been completed and are now open for staff and visitors.
Construction overview
In September, construction activity will include the establishment of a construction site compound at the corner of Limosa Close and Osborne Place. This will involve starting to install steel fencing along Limosa Close and Osborne Place.
The establishment of site offices and amenities will continue, including earthworks and service connections.
A waste facility within the construction compound will be relocated and fire hydrant testing will also take place, which may cause some water runoff on to nearby roads south of the hospital.
A temporary internal access road linking Limosa Close to the hospital will also be constructed. Locating existing services are continuing, with service diversions planned to start later in September.
What to expect
General construction noise and vibration are expected during some activities.
There will also be construction vehicles and equipment in the area, including, but not limited to heavy vehicles, survey equipment, compactor and both powered and non-powered hand tools.
Traffic management will also be in place where required to safely assist staff, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
The following mitigation measures will be in place to minimise impacts where feasible:
- Noise and vibration monitoring
- Water carts and hoses for dust suppression.
