Scarborough Beach is set to welcome a new reason for families to get outdoors, with the launch of the Scarborough Beach Play Trail.

Developed in partnership with Nature Play WA, the self guided digital experience invites families to explore Scarborough through movement, curiosity and hands-on discovery. The trail builds on four successful Play Trails already delivered across the City of Stirling, which encourage children to connect with nature.

Designed specifically for Scarborough, the new play trail blends nature-based play with an urban beachside setting, encouraging families to discover new perspectives of this well-loved destination. More than a walk, it brings together storytelling, problem-solving and movement, creating a relaxed treasure-hunt feel that encourages kids to stop, look closer and engage with their environment.

The 1.5km trail begins at the iconic Scarborough Beach Clock Tower and guides users along the esplanade via the Play Trails app. Eight stops unlock short, interactive challenges, quizzes and creative activities designed to keep kids engaged and curious.

The trail takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and can be combined with a playground visit, beach time or a café stop.

The Scarborough Beach Play Trail offers a low-effort, high-reward outing for parents, with pram-friendly paths, flexible pacing and plenty of nearby amenities. It is best suited to children aged approximately 6 to 14 years, though younger kids can join in with support.

Families can get started by downloading the Play Trails app and selecting the Scarborough Beach Play Trail.
